1937 - Maserati 4/6CM
Waiting for the new 3 litre formula of 1938 Maserati was
not involved in Grand Prix racing in 1937.

Their works team concentrated on voiturette racing
continuing with their popular 6CM car. At the end of the
season the 4CM appeared which had the 6CM chassis
and a 4 cylinder engine providing better torque and
acceleration out of slow corners to compete with the
ERA’s which were superior on straights.

Varzi, making his first appearance of the year arrived for
the 1937 San Remo GP and went on to dominate the
race winning the final by almost a lap in his borrowed
works Maserati 4CM.
