1935 - Avusrennen - this is Hermann zu Leiningen's No.3 race
limousine - a DNF in heat 2
The 1935 AVUS Rennen in Berlin was to see the debut
of legend Bernd Rosemeyer. In front of 150,000
spectators this was to be Rosemeyers first ever car
race, on the fastest circuit in the world, and in a
streamlined 375bhp race limousine!

This year the race  was split into two heats and a final.

Unfortunatley on the fourth lap of Heat 1 a high speed
tyre failure at the Nordschleife ended his race and he
was lucky to be able to stop the streamliner without
crashing, his debut race was over and Hans Stuck took
the victory having led the heat from start to finish in his
B type Auto Union.
