1934 - Auto Union Type A    
In 1934 Auto Union introduced their revolutionary
Porsche designed rear engined 4.3 liter Auto Union
Type A.

The first meeting between Auto Union and Mercedes
would be at the 1934 Eifelrennen GP.

Stuck in the No.1 car did have the lead until a lengthy
stop for fuel, tyres and plugs gave von Brauchitsch a
healthy lead in his
Mercedes W25 and from then on
went to secure the first race, first win for Mercedes.
