The 1912 Coupe de l’Auto was contested at the same time
as the revived Grand Prix through Dieppe on a 47 mile
long road circuit.

Driven By Victor Rigal - Sunbeams agent in France - the
No.3 car led a dominant Sunbeam team in the voiturette
class at the 1912 Grand Prix de France.

The 3 litre green Sunbeams came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in
the Coup de l'Auto and were 3rd, 4th and 5th overall
racing against much bigger machines competing for the
Grand Prix prize coming in behind the
giant red Fiats and
the latest cars from
Peugeot.
